once again I would like to beg for a bit of support.
The IPFire developers are currently integrating StrongSwan 5.0.0 into the distribution.
The main advantage is that we get rid of the pluto-Daemon which handled the IKEv1 protocol. That part was now integrated into charon, which handled the IKEv2 protocol up to then.
We are expecting (and already experiencing) a magnificent improvement of the connection stability. Especially in difficult situations, for example behind a NAT router and connections with dynamic IP addresses which change very often are getting much more fun to use.
